What a WEEK!

I cannot believe all the running around I have been doing lately!It’s the weekend and I’m STILL running! Today, Andria has singing lessons at 1:30, then she has a sleepover birthday party at 4:00. I still have grocery shopping to do which HAS to be done today or else I will get way too off program My house looks as if a tornado came through it TWICE, and I have YET to mop my kitchen floor with my new handy dandy Mr. Clean magic eraser mop that I bought at Tarjay yesterday If this thing works like it does on my walls ( I have a 3 yr old artist who decided to use my walls as an art easel ), my floors will look good as new!!! Which is a good thing because it looks disgusting

Got creative this morning with my oatmeal. One of my favorites in the morning is a packet of the Quaker Weight Control Banana bread oatmeal w/ 1/2 of banana sliced into it…SO yummy and filling!!!! Well, like I said earlier, I need to go grocery shopping because I am running out of “stuff” including bananas SO instead of bananas, I diced up 1/2 an apple and added some cinnamon to it,  but now it tastes like apple cinnamon oatmeal The apple and cinnamon TOTALLY took away the banana bread flavor. BUT, it is still yummy and it will fill me til lunch time.

I’m not fat…I’m horizontally challenged!

Like my new slogan? Wouldn’t that be a GREAT T-shirt!  My husband always tells me I’m “vertically challenged” instead of just calling me “short” ( I’m only 5′1, btw ) so I thought…I’m not only vertically challenged, I’m horizontally challenged as well!  I always hated the…”you’re not fat, you’re pleasantly plump” ….HATE the plump part…sounds like a happy ball park frank

Had a “not so good” week. Been battling a cold, it’s been raining most of the week so my walks have been almost non existant this week and for some reason, just when I started to “like” drinking water, it’s not so appetizing when you have a cold. The scale showed me up this week by 1.6 pounds. It was expected though. My whole schedule was off but these things happen all the time. It’s called “life”. Except this time, I’m getting back on track. Usually by this time I am so discouraged that this would be the week I would be giving up. Not this time, no way. Everything is finally back to “normal” ( except for the weather, but I will now have to “force” myself to dust off that recumbent bike and get new batteries for the timer )…husband is back on the road after being home this weekend, which is SO nice…I just wished I had felt better. That’s ok, this cold should be gone by the time he comes home and we can have a little more fun this time

Feel blah tonight

I think I’m coming down with little miss germie’s cold aka my 3 yr old DD. I felt great earlier today. Did my 2 mile walk, had a great lunch, I even weighed in this morning and lost 1.4 lbs this weekThen about an hour after lunch, my sinuses started draining and just feeling yuck! Wonderful. So, took a nap today.

That’s not the only thing going on either. I think I pulled something during my walk today. Leave it to me to injure myself on a simple exercise like walking I did something to my hip I think. It started getting kind of sore about halfway through my walk. But, continued to worsen after that. It feels fine when I am sitting down but as soon as I stand up, OMG…I am limping like an old granny. *sigh* Hopefully the pain will lessen tomorrow. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow so I might take a rest day on exercising but on the other hand, I want to keep walking because it seems to get worse if I sit too long. Probably just pulled a muscle or something. I wish I could just rub that area but I have too much fat in the way

Banana Parfait Sundae

I made this tonight and it was soooooo yummy and filling! I actually made it up.  My mini goal this week was to only have 1 sweet treat a day so I wanted to make something different. Let me tell you, …this thing DEFINATELY satisfies the sweet craving! My girls LOVED this! VERY simple to make!

You will need ( to make 1 serving )

1/2 banana
1 SF/FF chocolate or vanilla pudding cup
FF Cool Whip
1 Little Debbies Angel Food Snack Cake
Small serving dish or dessert cup
Drizzle of chocolate syrup ( optional )

Take the snack cake and slice it into 6 slices. Lay 3 slices on bottom of dish. Spoon half of pudding cup and layer it on top of snack cake slices. Take banana and slice it into 6 slices. Lay 3 slices on pudding. Spoon 1 Tbsp FF cool whip on top of bananas. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients. Drizzle top with chocolate syrup.

Starving this morning!

Don’t know what THAT’s all about but man was I starving this morning! Had my coffee, and I was STILL hungry. Usually coffee suppresses my appetite in the am which is why I don’t eat breakfast until around 9:30-10am after my walk but this morning, I had oatmeal and 1/2 of banana and haven’t taken my 2 mile walk yet. I didn’t hit my target points last night so that might have a lot to do with it. I was only 2 pts short, but I earned 3 AP’s which would make 5 pts. I need to add and adjust my food journal to make sure I am eating enough. I’m not hungry during the day and feel very satisfied. Didn’t realize how much walking 2 miles a day boosts up the ’ol metabolism. Yay for me!!! As for my healthy 8’s ( WWer’s will know what I’m talking about ) I am getting in almost all of them. The oils I don’t think I’m getting in enough because I only cook with oil so it really doesn’t count because I don’t use enough. I should be taking a vitamin everyday but man…I HATE taking pills. I could use one more serving of milk, but other than that, I think I am doing pretty good! Well, need to get my big butt off this computer and go walk. Have a great day everyone! 

What a weekend!!

Where do I actually start? LOL….Dh comes home Thursday night. Grilled a steak for him and chicken for me, and hot dogs for the girls. Had a very nice evening. Next morning ( Friday), we decided to take the girls to the zoo and have a picnic there. It was supposed to be the “best weather” day out of the whole holiday weekend so we figured if we were going to do anything, we would do it that day so we decided the zoo ( since it’s the closest, about 5 min away..LOL ). Got to the zoo about 1pm. Left the zoo around 5pm. Decided to stop and get pizza on our way home since we had left over salad from the previous night. So, we are on our way to the pizza place, and we get to the intersection where Dh normally parks his truck when he has a trailor on the back. As we are waiting for the light to turn green, my Dh says to me…”where is my truck?”..I was like..what do you mean? I look over to where it’s “supposed” to be and sh*t you not, it was GONE!!! Of course, sheer panic sets in and just in shock. First thing comes to mind is that the truck was stolen…nope…second thought, impounded…yep! Apparently, what happened was, the property owner sold the property and apparently the “new” owner doesn’t want trucks parked on his property. SO, instead of giving my husband OR any other truck that decides to park there a heads up, he just has them towed. No signs, no note on the windshield, no call to the company to let Dh know he needs to move his truck, NADA. All this place is, is a strip mall with a grocery store, dollar store, hallmark store, ect. The strip mall is about DEAD except for the grocery store but where trucks park, is on the opposite end where NO ONE parks AND it’s infront of an abandoned building ( used to be a pharmacy store like CVS or something like that ). My Dh isn’t the only one who parks there. The previous owner didn’t care and the business owners never had a problem because it’s not blocking their business. Anyway, couldn’t do anything about it til this morning so Dh’s truck sat in truck jail all weekend long and bail cost us $600. The company paid up front, and is nice enough to let my Dh make payments out of his paycheck. I think my Dh was more embarrassed than anything because he just started with this company 2 weeks ago so you can only imagine how and what he was feeling all weekend long. BUT, they reassured him to not worry about it, that these things happen and there wasn’t anything he could do until Tuesday morning so they basically told him to enjoy the rest of the weekend. So, that’s what we did.

On top of all that, AF FINALLY came ( perfect timing of course ) and then of course getting the girls ready for their first day back to school today. BUT,  after all that, I pretty much stayed on program and got my 2 mile walks in, and lost 1.2 lbs this week. WOOHOO!!!!

Changed my weigh in day

to Mondays. Don’t laugh Missy…I see you snickering as you read this Anyway, I didn’t have time to blog yesterday, but did a weigh in yesterday and have lost those 2 pounds I gained from Friday. So, apparently increasing my water intake helped TREMENDOUSLY. I am still amazed at myself though. Being the water hater that I am, I would have never DREAMED that I would be successfully drinking 80oz of water a day. What’s even more shocking is that, it’s not even that difficult for me to even drink that much now! Just proves that you can do ANYTHING if you put your mind to it. Sounds like a cliche’ but it’s actually true!

I’m still puzzled about AF. Still not here. I wonder if the change in diet affects your mentrual cycle. I KNOW I’m not pregnant, or better not be or we’ll be making a trip to hubby’s doctorHmmmm…I wonder if my cycle is readjusting itself again. It usually happens once a year, but it’s usually around May when it does. Who knows. I’m 36. Both my sisters started going through perimenopause at age 38 so it might just be my time.

Well, no exercise this morning since I woke up late. That 2 mile walk yesterday pushing Aleia in her stroller just about killed me over  I think my body needs rest today

Increased to 80 oz

Well, I increased my water intake to 80 oz and it seems to be working well! I got on the scale this morning again ( normally I get on the scale weekly but wanted to see if increasing my water intake would help) and I lost those 2 pounds of water weight I gained. AF still hasn’t showed her ugly head and I wish she would hurry up so I could get it over with. I am dragging butt this morning. It’s raining outside, gloomy, and overall I just feel ICK! If I start AF,  my gloomy day would be complete I’m going to try to get on my recumbent bike later to see if it perks me up some. Right now, I just want to crawl back in bed. 

Weigh in Friday

Bought a new scale and KNOW this scale is very accurate. I ended up buying another digital with a lithium battery. After getting on 10 different scales ( THAT was an experience! ) and found this one and it was reasonable in price. I WAS going to get the scale with all the bells and whistles but if you look at it like buying a car…the more gadgets, the more things could go wrong with it…so, I kept it simple.

I am up 2 pounds this week. I expected it..it is water weight. I can feel it. AF is due anyday…actually she is overdue now ( go figure ) so today I am going to up my intake on the water. I am already drinking 64 oz a day, but may need to drink an extra bottle today. I will sure try. And hopefully I won’t feel so bloated.

Next week I should see a good drop if AF shows today. I have been eating well ( except for a few mishaps but used some of my flexpoints and didn’t go overboard), getting all my water in and walked 1-2 miles almost everyday this week. Today is a new day!  

AF go away!

I wish she would make up her mind on when she wants to show up! I’m tired of this bloating and cramps. The chocolate craving just WON’T go away and have been trying VERY hard to resist! UGH! Well, at least my WW chocolate ice cream bars are only 1 pt a piece so if I keep eating them, I guess it’s better than having 2 big bowls of ice cream.I thought she was coming early this month but she never came but her presence is here now, and I can DEFINATELY feel her. I’m not looking forward to weighing in on Friday because my shorts feel snug right now, mainly because I am bloated. I have been eating very well lately except for a couple of mishaps earlier in the week BUT I have been getting in ALL of my water in and have walked almost everyday this week. I’m still going to buy me a new scale, probably tomorrow since the one I have is garbage. I think Aleia broke it since she is CONSTANTLY trying to jump on itI don’t know what I’m going to do with that child…if only I had HALF of her energy
